Last night was a brilliant game between my home side, the Canterbury Tactix and my personal favourite team, Magic, from the Waikato.
Magic were expected to take it out and in the end they did but it was a superb battle between the two sides as always seems to happen when these teams meet. It makes for a wonderful feature of netball.
My favourite netball player is Laura Langman, she plays midcourt positions, as do i and her regular position is centre, just like me. I feel like everytime i watch her play i learn something from her and i definitely feel like she is the best centre in the league, possibly in the world right now.
With the new Silver Ferns squad being named in August as well as the Captain, i definitely think that Langman is in with a chance to be it, along with another wonderful player who i admire, Casey Williams. They are both fine examples on and off the court and i think either of them in the position of captain would be wonderful and a look to the future of netball as they are both youngsters. 
Both are fine athletes and all round people who happen to be extremely good at netball.
Not to mention the wonderful Irene van Dyk. Her smiley, happy approach to the game is admirable and she is playing undeniably well, outplaying others half her age. She is a real testament to the sport of netball.
I'm going to cross my fingers that the Magic make it to the finals, they have the desire to win, and i think that this year, the championship is theirs.
